Who we are
10 Stars Ltd (“10 Stars”, “we”, “us”) is a private limited company registered in England and Wales, with its registered office at Office 1761, 60 Tottenham Court Road, Fitzrovia, London W1T 2EW, United Kingdom.
We are the controller of personal data processed through our apps and this website, which means we decide how and why it is used. You can contact us about anything in this policy at [email protected].
What this policy covers
This policy applies to all mobile applications published by 10 Stars Ltd on the Apple App Store and Google Play (each an “App”), and to our website at 10stars.world (together, the “Services”).
Some Apps offer features that others don’t. Where a section below describes something only certain Apps do (for example, user accounts or advertising), it applies only to the Apps that offer that feature. The privacy details shown on each App’s store listing summarise the data that particular App uses.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details — if an App lets you create an account, we collect what you provide, such as your name, email address and password (stored in hashed form). If you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive the details you choose to share, such as your name and email address (which may be a private relay address).
- Content you create — anything you enter, upload or save in an App, such as text, photos, preferences or settings.
- Support and feedback — the information you include when you email us or send feedback, including your email address and the contents of your message.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information — device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone and a randomly generated app instance identifier.
- Usage information — how you interact with an App, such as the screens you view and features you use, so we can understand what works and improve it.
- Diagnostics — crash reports and performance data, such as stack traces and the state of the App when an error occurred.
- Push notification token — if you allow notifications, a token that lets us deliver them to your device.
Purchases
In-app purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple or Google. We never receive or store your full payment card details. We receive information needed to confirm and manage your purchase, such as a transaction ID, the product purchased, the date, the price and subscription status.
Device permissions
Some features need access to things like your camera, photos, microphone, location or contacts. We only ask when you use a feature that needs it, only use that access for the feature you chose, and process it on your device wherever possible. You can change these permissions at any time in your device settings.
We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health, biometric, religious or political information). Please don’t send it to us through support messages.
How we use your information
- To provide, operate and maintain the Apps and the features you ask for.
- To create and manage your account and keep you signed in.
- To process, verify and restore purchases and subscriptions.
- To answer your questions and provide customer support.
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs and improve performance and reliability.
- To understand how our Apps are used so we can improve them and build new features.
- To send notifications you have agreed to receive, and important service messages (such as changes to these terms).
- To keep our Services safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms of Use.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing.
Our legal bases
Under UK and EU data protection law (the UK GDPR, the EU GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on the following legal bases:
- ContractProviding the App and your account, processing purchases, and delivering features you request.
- Legitimate interestsProviding support, keeping our Services secure, preventing fraud, diagnosing crashes and improving our Apps — balanced against your rights and expectations.
- ConsentOptional analytics, personalised advertising and marketing notifications where consent is required. You can withdraw consent at any time in the App or your device settings.
- Legal obligationKeeping financial records and responding to lawful requests from authorities.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only where necessary, with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract and only on our instructions — for example Google Firebase and Google Cloud (hosting, databases, authentication, crash reporting, analytics and push messaging).
- Apple and Google, who distribute our Apps and process in-app purchases under their own privacy policies.
- Advertising partners, only in Apps that show ads — see Advertising & tracking.
- Professional advisers, such as lawyers and accountants, where needed.
- Authorities, where required by law or to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, the public or us.
- A buyer or successor, if our business or an App is sold, merged or reorganised. We’ll tell you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Advertising & tracking
Some free Apps may show ads from advertising networks such as Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before using your data for personalised advertising.
- On iPhone and iPad, we will only track you across apps and websites owned by other companies if you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads (or Settings → Google → Ads).
If you decline, you can still use the App — you may simply see ads that are less relevant to you.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. When we transfer personal data internationally, we make sure it’s protected by an adequacy decision (such as the UK–US Data Bridge) or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep personal data only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above:
- Account data and content — while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete it within 30 days.
- Support messages — up to 2 years after your query is resolved.
- Crash and diagnostics data — up to 90 days.
- Analytics data — up to 14 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated.
- Purchase and transaction records — up to 6 years, as required by UK tax and accounting law.
We may keep information longer if we have to by law, or to resolve disputes. Data that has been fully anonymised so it no longer identifies you may be kept for statistical purposes.
Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest through our cloud providers, access controls and the principle of least privilege. No system is perfectly secure, but we work hard to protect your information and will notify you and the regulator of a personal data breach where the law requires.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it.
- Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase your data (“the right to be forgotten”).
- Restrict or object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests and direct marketing.
- Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing that happened before.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month, and may need to verify your identity first. There is normally no fee.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can try to help. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113, or to your local data protection authority if you live in the EU.
Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account from within any App that offers accounts (usually under Settings → Account → Delete Account), or ask us to do it by following the steps on our account deletion page. Deleting an App from your device does not delete your account or data.
Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription. Please cancel it through the App Store or Google Play first.
Children
Our Apps are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. If we ever publish an App designed for children, it will follow Apple’s Kids Category and Google Play Families requirements, and applicable law such as the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and COPPA.
Additional information for US residents
Residents of California and certain other US states have rights to know what personal information we collect, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of its “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information. Where an App shows personalised ads, you can opt out using the controls described in Advertising & tracking. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email [email protected].
This website
Our website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking technologies. Our hosting provider (Google Firebase Hosting) processes limited technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver pages securely and protect against abuse. If you use our contact form, it simply opens your own email app — nothing is stored on our website.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top, and if the changes are significant we’ll let you know in the App or by email before they take effect.
